Our client is a start-up organisation and an international research center looking for a VP of AI Engineering and Research with technical skills in Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP), as well as a focus on AI solution research and innovation responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities will include
- Provide strategic direction for AI initiatives and innovation within the organization.
- Collaborate with other executives to align AI goals with overall business objectives.
- Lead and mentor a team of AI engineers and researchers, actively contributing to technical leadership.
- Actively participate in the design and architecture of AI solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Provide hands-on technical expertise in designing scalable and efficient AI systems.
- Engage in coding and review code for AI applications, demonstrating proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, or others.
- Drive innovation through the exploration of new AI technologies and methodologies.
- Ensure the implementation of best practices in AI development and solution design.
- Directly manage key AI projects, ensuring technical excellence, timeliness, and adherence to budget constraints.
- Communicate complex technical concepts and strategies effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Who we're looking for
- Must have Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Sciences or Information Technology.
- Must have proven experience of 10+ years of in the Technology Innovation domain with 2-4 years in Artificial Intelligence in developing SaaS products.
- In-depth understanding of ML algorithms, including hands-on experience in model development and training.
- Expertise in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Proficient in implementing and fine-tuning NLP techniques for various applications.
- Familiarity with popular NLP libraries like NLTK or spaCy.
- Strong programming skills with a focus on solution design.
- Experience in designing and implementing scalable and maintainable AI solutions.
- Expertise in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and working with large datasets.
- Ensuring data quality and integrity in AI applications.
- Hands-on experience with model deployment and integration into production systems.
- Knowledge of containerization and deployment tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proven ability to think creatively and drive innovation in AI solutions.
- Track record of implementing novel approaches to solve challenging problems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for scalable and efficient AI implementations.
